Responsibilities:

Customer Success:

• Utilize your architecture expertise to enhance customer satisfaction, return on investment, and overall Heroku customer experience.
• Understand customer business and technical objectives, set appropriate expectations, and define success criteria.
• Educate customers on Heroku architecture principles, share best practices, and assist in developing scalable applications.
• Collaborate with Support, Technical Account Management, Engineering, and Product teams to address customer issues and build trust in the platform.

Efficient Engagement:

• Conduct Heroku Expert Coaching Sessions, such as onboarding and implementation strategy, application scaling planning, and technical discovery.
• Identify opportunities for automation and structured offerings to improve customer engagement efficiency.

Teamwork:

• Lead team discovery and development projects to enhance efficiency and deliver greater value to customers.
• Foster collaboration and understanding among different teams by sharing customer feedback and knowledge.
• Continuously learn new skills and contribute to the team’s collective experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
• Experience in customer-facing roles.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for effective customer interaction.
• Ability to handle objections, prioritize issues, and drive resolution and program success.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Technical Skills:

• Previous development experience in programming languages such as Java, PHP, Ruby, Python, Node.js, or Go.
• Supporting enterprise web-based application implementation (HTTP, REST, WEBSOCKET) and application integration patterns.
• Experience with fundamental technologies like Postgres, Redis, Kafka, and application performance monitoring and logging/observability tools.
• Expertise in architecting, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Internet technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, VPN, DNS, SSL/TLS)
• Experience working with highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure, including load balancing and performance testing.

Nice to have:

• Experience with various cloud offerings and architectures, with a focus on AWS and knowledge of Azure and GCP.
• Understanding of network, application, and information security principles.
• Experience with container technology (e.g., Docker) and DevOps methodologies and tooling (Git, Terraform, GitHub, CI/CD).
• Understanding of AWS networking features and experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving
